Natalie and Arnold spend some time with a really big personality, a towering pop culture icon, a star with the kind of animal magnetism that…OK, look, it’s King Kong, all right? As Arnold deals with a massive wave of childhood nostalgia thanks to his imminent 50th birthday, and with the recent death of actor Charles Grodin, it’s time to look back at a movie that was a two-night event on NBC back in his formative years – the 1976 KING KONG! Then it’s back even further to revisit one of the most influential films of the early twentieth century, the original KING KONG from 1933! How well do these films hold up in 2021, and why is Kong still such a box office draw nearly 90 years after he first appeared? Gather up your maps of Skull Island (or whatever it’s called), tell your boss you’re bringing in the big one, and settle in for another very hairy episode of GHOULS IN THE HOUSE!
And remember, when you’re listening to this podcast, the only ghoul in the house…is YOU!
